SYNOPSIS
Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.
Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

STEPH'S REVIEW
“You’re good for me. You take me any mood I come in. I don’t have to be always happy or on around you. You roll with any shit I say and give as good as you get. You don’t let me push you around if it doesn’t suit you and you haven’t asked me to buy you a fucking thing.”
Play is Mal Ericson’s story. He is the drummer for Stage Dive and the life of the party.  He lives the rock star life to the fullest - total sex, drugs and rock n roll. A sudden turn of events has Mal questioning his lifestyle and the countless one night stands.  For Mal Ericson, he needs a good girl to clean up his playboy image and Anne Rollins is just that woman.

Anne Rollins is in a huge predicament, she trusted the wrong friend and now she is left with the financial burden.  She is used to being the caregiver yet currently she has no idea how she will pay rent OR continue to help out her younger sister. Anne is a real survivor and I loved that about her. She has several reasons to throw in the towel and wallow in self pity but she never does.

As life would have, it when you are friends with David Ferris’s wife, Anne gets invited to a party. It is a tame rock star party by most standards but all that really matters is Anne is about to met her teenage crush, Mal Ericson.

Mal overhears Anne’s financial troubles and moves himself into her apartment while she is at work. YEP just moves in. You see that is Mal. He has no boundaries because he has always been the one everybody loves.

“You know, I honestly can’t decide if your ego is repulsive or just impressive.”
Their attraction is evident yet neither have the time or desire for a relationship, at this point in their lives. The banter amongst these two is truly priceless. I laughed out loud on several occasions!
“You didn’t say you liked me back,” he probed, sounding the tiniest bit insecure if my ears weren’t deceiving me.
“Oh, well.” I turned to look at him, squinting, ignoring the screaming still coming from on screen. “You are…”
“I’m what?”
“So…”
“C’mon, pumpkin, you’re taking too long. Spit it out.”
“Very….”
“Fuck it. I’m just gonna compliment myself.”
This is an amazingly HOT rocker story that has a real depth of pain. Anne and Mal are both hiding their secrets but once they share you heart will be breaking right along with theirs.

Play is the second book in the Stage Dive series. Kylie Scott is a brilliantly talented author who can weave us through story after story and still keep things fresh and exciting.
