EXCERPT
“Get up, birthday girl,” Andrew announces from somewhere near the foot of the bed. I hear him slap the tabletop by the window with the palm of his hand repeatedly.

I roll over onto my side, putting my back toward the bright sun and then burrow underneath the sheets. A gust of cold air hits me when Andrew snatches the sheets off me.

“Oh come on!” I moan, drawing my knees toward my chest and pulling the pillow over my head. “I should be able to sleep in on my birthday.”

Suddenly my body is being dragged off the bed and my arms come up wildly, trying to hold on to the edge of the mattress. Andrew’s hand is wrapped firmly around my ankle. I kick and flail, trying to get away, but he drags me across the bed so fast and without much effort that I just give up. My butt hits the floor and the sheets tumble down and around me.

“You are such an ass!” I laugh.

“But you love me. Now get up.”

With my hair all tangled around my head, I look up at him and pout. He smiles at me and reaches out his hand. I take it, and he pulls me into a stand.

“Happy birthday, babe,” he says and pecks me on the lips.

STEPH'S REVIEW
J.A. Redmerski once again beautifully weaves us through Andrew and Camryn’s love story. THE EDGE OF ALWAYS is told largely in Andrew’s POV however we do get Camryn’s POV and an extra special bonus in the Epilogue!

The book picks up about four months after The Edge of Never. We are quickly reminded of Andrew and Camryn’s deep love and connection as they are preparing for the arrival of their baby. They are enjoying life while blissfully planning baby showers and trips to see family members.  Sadly, as life seems to do all too often they are thrown a life altering curveball.

It’s like something dark swoops down from somewhere above and steals every shred of happiness you have ever felt and all you can do is watch it, feel it go, knowing that no matter what you do in life that you’ll never be able to get it back.

As the darkness overtakes them both we see Camryn begin to head down a very dangerous road. My heart was truly breaking for Camryn as her past collides with her present. She has been dealt the card of loss on too many occasions.  Just as Camryn begins to doubt the very foundation of her life, Andrew discovers her dark secret and pulls her back into the light.

“You’re the world to me”  I whisper onto her lips.
“I hope you never forget that.”
“I’ll never forget it,” she whispers….
“But if I ever do, for whatever reason, I hope you’ll always find a way to remind me.”

Andrew is sure they need the openness of the road to clear their heads and heal their hearts. So he sets up another extended road trip, giving Camryn no warning or choice but to get in the car and go.   When their travels take them back to New Orleans I was overtaken by all of Camryn’s memories. I could feel all the nostalgic feelings she was feeling and I truly felt as if I was also checking into that fateful Holiday Inn.

Andrew and Camryn teach us so much in The Edge of Always. We learn that we can be in charge of our own HEA, to grab hold of your dreams no matter how big or small and live your life how you want to live it. You don't have to flip off society while you do it but be true only to yourself and happiness will find you.

Because we only have one life.  We get one shot at making it worth living.  We took our shot and ran like hell.

This is a fabulous 5 star read and one you definitely can’t pass up!

I will leave you with just one more Andrew thought…

Who needs psychiatrists? Who needs grief counselors and life coaches and motivational speakers? Fuck all that. Just stare at the night sky and let yourself get lost in it every now and then.
