MY REVIEW

You know that feeling when you are about to do something and yet you are not sure if you up for the task??? Well that is how I feel about writing this review.

Alice Montalvo-Tribue is a freshman author although her writing was that of a seasoned veteran.  The character and scenes are perfectly developed and you can truly feel each emotion the characters were experiencing.

Ellie Brooks is a thirty-something IT specialist living a simple life and protecting her heart at all cost. She has an inspiring family that loves her deeply. Ellie’s close friendship to Jordan is what most of us strive for in our own friendships.

Victor Garza is the ultra hot Latin superstar that craves his privacy and is ready to give it all up and settle down. Not only does he know his way around a stage but he knows all the right buttons to push on a woman (mine included!).

The attraction between Ellie and Victor was immediate.  Ellie agrees to a couple of casual dates but is determined to keep this relationship short and sweet.  Victor takes his time with Ellie and peels back all her walls layer by layer.  Their relationship is so endearing and yet it is defiantly not lacking in the steamy department!

Few of my favorite quotes:

“He is pulling me further in, making himself my center of gravity.”
“I let the demons of my past destroy my wonderful present.  I want to take it all back, wish it away, close my eyes and wake up back in Victor’s bed, in his arms.”
“This is what it feels like when two people really share love.  There are no false hopes and promises, no anger or resentment, it’s just pure love.”
“I close my eyes, committing the moment to memory.  The moment where he managed to turn the darkest part of me to light.”

This is a great read. One that will have you smiling and crying!  Did I stay up way to late reading.  YOU BET!  I think you will too.  Yes I loved this book and I would highly recommend it!

INTERVIEW WITH VICTOR AND ELLIE
I am very excited to welcome Victor and Ellie from Translation of Love.

RG: First I want to say that I LOVED the book!  Were you surprised when Alice decided to publish the Victor and Ellie story?

Ellie: Thank you! Yes, I was stunned, I couldn’t believe that she wanted to tell our story.

Victor: I was definitely surprised but excited, I wanted the world to get to see Ellie the way I see her.  (he grabs her hand and starts rubbing her palm with his thumb)

Ellie: Aww, thanks Babe.

RG: Victor, why do you call her Ellie when her family calls her Elle?

Victor: Hmm. I never really thought about this. I guess because when I met her she was so guarded, Elle is a guarded person but I wanted to bring out the carefree side, that’s Ellie to me, she’s young and beautiful and fun, she’s not so uptight.

Ellie: (looking offended)  Well gee thanks! I was never uptight.

Victor: Yeah you really were, it’s okay though, I still love you.

RG: Please describe the other person.

Ellie: Victor is probably the most patient person I’ve ever met in my life. I don’t think anyone else would have stuck it out with me, I sure as hell wouldn’t have. He’s also loyal to a fault, affectionate and just sexy.

Victor: Sexy huh? (grins at her) Good to know. Ellie is smart, silly when she lets loose, and very sweet. I’ve never met anyone like her, she’s the love of my life.

RG:  Victor, do you remember your first kiss with Ellie and can you describe it?

Victor: If I remember correctly, it was after our first date, I had just taken her home and I knew that even though she had a good time, she might try to push me away so I kissed her. I wanted to give her something to remember me by. As you can see she’s still here.

Ellie: (Rolling her eyes) Oh God. Confident much?

RG:  What is your favorite scene from TOL?

Ellie: I love the scene where Victor tells me he loves me for the first time. It’s one of those moments in my life that I’ll never forget and after feeling unlovable for so long hearing him say those words was just surreal.

Victor: (looking at Ellie adoringly) I can’t tell you exactly what my favorite scene is because I don’t wanna spoil if for anyone who hasn’t read the book but I’ll say that it happened in Spain and it was a moment that changed my life forever.

RE:  Pick one scene you would have Alice rewrite, and why.

Ellie: Oh God!! (covers her face with her hands) All the sex scenes. I just want it to go on the record that I was not the one that went into detail with her about all of our intimate moments. This one over here (Jerks her thumb in Victor’s direction) gave a little too much info if you ask me. I mean my dad read this book for God’s sake.

Victor: Babe. Seriously? Those were the best scenes.

Ellie: Of course you’d say that! What would you have her rewrite then smartass?

Victor: I wouldn’t change any of it, because then it wouldn’t be honest. She wrote it how it happened and as hard as parts of it were to read, it’s our story, it’s what got us here.

Ellie: Alright, now I’m gonna cry. (Victor grasps her neck and pulls her in, gives her a kiss on the forehead)

RG:  Ellie, you talk about being such a different person after the break up with Brian.  Can you tell me what you were like before you dated Brian?

Ellie: Umm, physically, I had blonde hair and I used to dress a little bit more… young. Emotionally I was just a lot less cautious I wasn’t guarded at all I was a lot more trusting.

Victor: I know you are working on repairing your relationship with your Mom.  Do you think she finally accepts your relationship with Ellie?

Victor: That’s been a difficult relationship to repair but we’re getting there. I know that she honestly feels terrible for the problems she cause for Ellie and me and she does accept that we’re together now, but we’re just taking it one day at a time.

RG: Can you give any more details about the wedding.  Ellie, how did you feel when you were pronounced husband and wife?  Victor, tell us your thoughts when Ellie was walking down the aisle.

Ellie: The wedding was small, very intimate only our closest family and friends. It was a bit surreal when we were pronounced husband and wife, I’d never let myself believe I’d get to that point but secretly it had always been a dream, so for it to come true was one of the best moments of my life.

Victor: Seeing her walk down the aisle was mind blowing, she was gorgeous. After everything we’ve been through to finally get to that point was just unbelievable.

RG: We are looking forward to hearing Alex and Jordan’s story.  Do you have any words of advice for us as their readers?

Ellie: Watch out. Jordan is well, she’s indescribable.

Victor: Yeah it’s gonna be great, my brother is very different from me. Patience is not his strong suit.

Thank you for taking time to talk with me.  I hope we speak again in the near future!
