Review: Three of Spades by W. Ferraro

SYNOPSIS
Dylan Cross is the type of man that enjoys everything female, and enjoy it he does, but always on his terms. However, his terms are pushed to their limit when Natalie Parker proposes an offer; teach her and her delectable little body, all about sex and desire. There is one catch. He has to play the part of Natalie’s madly in love boyfriend for her dying mother. Dylan signs on, and finds that separating the two is harder than he thought. Natalie’s days of shyness and lack of confidence come to a quick close as she learns what her body craves and demands in the bedroom. Soon, Dylan becomes the student as Natalie teaches him things he didn’t even know he wanted. Will Hamden’s notorious playboy, bachelor be able to keep calling the shots, or will he find that, he, himself, is just another player at the card game of life, as we all are?

MY REVIEW
This is the second book in the Hamden series and it definitely did not disappoint.  I particularly enjoyed Ferraro's vivid detail to scene description and her strong character building.  The story of Dylan Cross and Natalie Parker is more than just your typical reformed playboy that falls for the quiet shy woman or in this case school teacher.  Dylan captures your heart with his genuine thoughtfulness and attention to Natalie as her family (more particularly her brothers) repeatedly take advantage of her.  That said Dylan is not the typical Alpha male we are so often seeing in recent books.  He strives to help Natalie become a strong independent woman.  You can truly relate to these characters and find each character endearing in their own special way.  I also appreciated  Ferraro giving us a few unexpected twist and turns through her story.

I love these kind of series that the characters flow nicely from one book to the next.
